Level 1 Umpire Course
Level 1 Umpire is the entry-level qualification for the officiating pathway, providing an opportunity to umpire at local competitions as well as the start of the journey for those who which progress to national and international level competition umpiring and refereeing.
What you’ll learn
The course will cover all the major issues needed to be a competent umpire, including:
- Rules for doubles
- Acceptable on court behaviour
- Legalities around serving
How the course will be delivered
The course is formed of two parts: an online learning module followed by an online exam and a practical in-person session on 4th October.
- The online learning and exam must be completed prior to the in-person session
- Once you are booked onto the course you will be sent log in details for the online elements
- The in-person session will require you to play as well as umpire, so please bring a bat
- The course is tutored by an International Umpire
When and where
- The online elements must be completed before the practical in-person session
- The online learning module will take roughly four hours and the online exam one hour
- The in-person session will run from 10am-4pm
